🔐 Bypassing Gatekeeper on macOS

macOS Gatekeeper may block OuchMac on first launch with a message like "OuchMac cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." This is a standard macOS security prompt, not a sign that something is wrong.

To open OuchMac:

  1. Go to Applications in Finder
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) on OuchMac
  3. Click Open from the context menu
  4. In the dialog box that appears, click Open again
  5. macOS will remember your choice — you will not be asked again

On macOS Sequoia: System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll down → click "Open Anyway" next to OuchMac.

Installation FAQ

Why does macOS say the app "cannot be opened"?

OuchMac is notarized but may trigger Gatekeeper on first launch. Right-click the app in Applications, click Open, then confirm. macOS will remember your choice.

Can I use OuchMac on more than one Mac?

Yes. Each license activates on up to 2 Macs. Need more? Contact support@ouchmac.com.

Does OuchMac work on Mac desktop (Mac Mini, iMac)?

No. Desktop Macs have no built-in accelerometer. OuchMac requires a MacBook Air or Pro with macOS 13+.

The app is not appearing in my menubar.

On macOS Sequoia, menubar apps can be hidden when the bar is full. Click the clock area at top-right and look for the OuchMac icon. You can also try Command+Space → OuchMac → Enter.

I already paid but the app is still asking me to buy.

Go to Settings → License inside OuchMac, enter the email you used at checkout, and click Verify. Make sure you have an internet connection. If it still does not work, email support@ouchmac.com.

How do I uninstall OuchMac?

Drag OuchMac from Applications to Trash. That removes the app.
