Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

OuchMac is a native macOS application. It runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that collect, process, or store your personal data. This policy explains what minimal data interactions occur and what does not happen.

Data We Do Not Collect

OuchMac does not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, address)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data
  • Accelerometer readings or sensor data beyond local, real-time use
  • Audio recordings or sound playback logs
  • Device identifiers or hardware fingerprints
  • Location data

License Key Storage

Your license key (format: OUCH-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is stored locally in macOS Keychain or UserDefaults on your device. It is transmitted once to our license validation server at the time of activation solely to verify its authenticity. After validation, the app works offline. No license key metadata is linked to your identity.

No Analytics, No Tracking

OuchMac does not integrate any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party data collection services. There are no cookies, session identifiers, or behavioral tracking of any kind. The app does not phone home after the initial license check.

No User Accounts

OuchMac has no account system. You do not create a profile, log in, or authenticate with a password. Your license key is your proof of purchase and your only credential. There is no user database on our end tied to you as an individual.

GDPR and CCPA Compliance

Because OuchMac collects no personal data, the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are effectively met by design. There is no personal data to request, delete, or port. If you purchased OuchMac through a third-party payment processor, that processor's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information — OuchMac never receives or stores it.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted at ouchmac.com/privacy with a new effective date. Continued use of OuchMac after such a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
